An artist's rendering of WISE in orbitWISE, the Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer, is set to launch 6:09:33 a.m. PST Friday, December 11. Visit the link to their website to learn about this mid-infrared all-sky survey mission. If all goes well we will soon be learning a great many new things and, as in the case with the Spitzer Space Telescope, Palomar Observatory will be hosting many astronomers for follow-up observations.
